So I get back my first paper of my career as a graduate student with a passing grade. (A passing grade being defined by me as one that will keep my overall GPA at 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.)

Blather follows.

I'm not talking about a bailout here, even the Democrats in Congress have backed off of that, but something probably has to be done. But it might not be.

and other than having caught my wife's cold, thus being physically miserable from Sunday night on, it was a very good visit.  I didn't get to see any HuSi-ites, though, due to my health (why make perfectly good people sick?), time, and general uppity-ness.

Print Story So what DO you do?!
So I was at a retirement party for our CEO and I ran into a couple people from the department, a VP and some up-and-coming girl, and they were all, so, how's stuff going in your area, and then they were like, wait, so what is it exactly that you do? And I was like, um, I actually haven't done anything at all productive in the last four months. Shit. I need to send out resumes TODAY. I just got an alert that $CONSULTING_COMPANY has an opening that's a good fit for me. On the one hand, it's consulting, on the other, it's a good fit.

the phrase "he flew his company's private jet" become the new "he gassed his own people," I keep wondering if anyone has even the slightest clue.

Reading is Fundamental

My day started out shit by not getting out of bed at 7:30 like a good little monkey. It got a lot shittier when I actually did get out of bed because my hot, redheaded bitch was still under the covers, nekkid. The shit continued as I walked to work in the rain, then had to stand outside the door in that rain for a few minutes as a crane worked on moving the pile of carpet rolls blocking the entrance to the Panopticon. Only once I walked into the office and logged in did I find out the true meaning of a shit day (excluding those days Lassie isn't around), and not just because nobody had bothered to make any coffay.

x-posted to da brog.
